About the Subtitle Generator
The EditCrafted Subtitle Generator is a free online tool that turns
audio and video files into clean, ready-to-use .srt
subtitle files. It is part of the
EditCrafted platform — a
small toolkit of focused utilities for creators.
What it does
- Accepts MP4, MP3, WAV, and M4A files up to 100 MB.
- Detects the spoken language automatically, or lets you pick English or Hebrew.
- Returns a standard
.srtfile with timed captions.
How it works
When you upload a file, it is sent to our server and processed by an
open-source speech-recognition model. The model produces a transcript
with timestamps, which is formatted as an .srt file and
sent back to your browser as a download. Once the response is sent,
both the uploaded file and the generated subtitle are deleted from the
server.
